Has anyine used name dropping as a technique to get discounts?
I have read here earlier this year that some travellers have received discounts by saying that the said company was recommended to them through fodors.<BR><BR>What expereinces have you had in obtaining a discount from a company by saying that fodors (or others) had recommended them?

I was in a little shop in Rothenburg and mentioned Rick Steves and got a discount and a nice story about how nice Rick and his family are.<BR><BR>US<BR><BR>Form the postings on this site I'm not sure that mentioning Rex woudl help!
