Harry Potter in Athens

I will be in Athens during the release of Harry Potter 7. Of the English-language bookstores, what are the chances they would stock it? Will I be able to find a copy in Athens?

I'd be surprised if you could find it in Greece right after release, but the best bets in Athens would be Eleftheroudakis or Compendium. Be aware that foreign (non-Greek)books are typically much more expensive in Greece than in their country of origin.

We were just in Athens and found the prices for English language books to be higher, but more reasonable than on the islands - especially at the Starbucks on Mitropoleos. They have a basement bookstore, and I am sure they will have Harry Potter soon after the release.

They probably will have it on pre-order only on the release day, if they have it all. Here in Holland bookshops will have it on the release day - but only in very limitednumbers I believe. My son has pre-ordered his copy.

Is the book different if it isn't bought the first day it is available?

You could try ordering from Amazon or other source to be delivered to your hotel.
