Hardcore Travelers: help a newbie get from Dresden to Glasgow!

I'm a novice European traveler booking a dream trip for this July & August. Many of you on this forum gave me great ideas for my itinerary. I've now run into a bit of a roadblock: I need to get from Dresden to Glasgow...and I can't find any routes by plane (my preference) or train that doesn't take nearly 24 hours of travel time. Am I missing something here? Or is it just a crazy long trip? Btw...driving is not an option. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Otherwise I'm going to skip Dresden and perhaps go to Brussels instead so I can easily get to Glasgow. But I'd love to try & get to Dresden if possible. Thanks!

Off the top of my head - BA flies from Dresden to GLA. Or you could fly to another airport (Frankfurt, Munich, ??) and connect on to GLA from there.

Thx janisj... It really is just that easy! BA does fly from dresden to glasgow with a stop in between. For some reason, it didn't come up in my initial flight searches. I had a feeling I was missing something! Thanks again!

Have a look at the Skyscanner website. A quick look revealed a connection Dresden to Glasgow in 6.35 hrs.
Cost $269.

Easyjet flies direct from Berlin to both Glasgow and Edinburgh, and train from Dresden to Berlin must be fairly straightforward. You just have to play around with the various options.

Thanks everyone. I googled this several times before asking the forum for help. Not sure why I couldn't find what appear to be straightforward routes. I think my brain is getting rattled from dealing with such a big overall itinerary! Thanks again.

If you want to take a low-cost flight from Berlin- Schönefeld airport with Easyjet, you can get there easily by bus several times a day from Dresden for a maximum of €18. Going by train always means a transfer and will be longer than the bus ride eventually.

Thanks, cowboy. I definitely wanna get to Glasgow asap, so I love the idea of saving time and money with a bus to Berlin Schonefeld airport. Appreciate the tip and the URL.
