HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Where are you planning to travel in 2005?

New Years wishes to (almost) all of you!!! So... where will your travel plans take you in the coming year?

In one week, my family is going with another family to a private villa in Puerto Vallarta. Been there once before, and I CAN'T WAIT.

In March, DH and I are going ALONE to the Polo Beach Club on Maui. Have decided to fly first class (for free, using miles). Again, I CAN'T WAIT!!

How about you?

Hi iregeo, this thread will fare better I am sure

We are just starting to book a trip for March and planning a trip to Japan for later in the year.

Sometime in between, the Yankee still wants to see San Miguel de Allende Mexico, and we will be going back to NYC to visit friends and family.

Well, next month I leave for four weeks in Italy. I was planning to spend one month in South India and the Maldives in Fall of '05, but in light of the recent tragedy that may change. (Maybe northern India?)

Hi Scarlett. Special holiday wishes to your Pup!

John, that's my dream trip. I'm hoping to put something like that together for the summer. We'll see...

January: DH goes to Hawaii for a conference without me.

February: DH goes on a guys-only ski weekend (it's okay, it was orchestrated by me for his birthday)

March: The whole family is going to San Antonio and Houston to visit friends and family.

June: Just DH and I are going to Rome and the Amalfi Coast. Yippee!

July or August: Family trip to the Colorado mountains; we'll see family in Denver on the way.

That's all that's planned so far...

End of January - 1 night visit with a Fodorite in NYC.
Next day flying to BKK for few days with a stop in Hawaii.
End of February - Manchester and London for a week
End of March - New Zealand for 12 days, Australia for 11 days and Hong Kong for 5 days.
May/June - couple of trips to UK and (possible) Bulgaria, Romania, Czech Republic and Poland.

Second part of the year? don't know yet but I'm sure it will be just as busy, at least the 4th quarter.

Hi Iregeo, Oh PV, how fantastic, one of my favorite places (shhh do not tell anyone in Italy lol). Do have the most beautiful vacation. Lucky you!!

My plans are at this point, Hawaii in April, Italy in June and Santa Barbara and Portland OR somewhere inbetween.

And of course trips in SF here and there.

Do, please, post a trip report about your trip to PV. A beautiful trip is wished for you and your loved ones.

Paris in January and UK in late May/early June. I usually do several business trips a year to Dallas and Houston, which is great because I have family and freinds in both cities. I also plan to attend my sister's wedding in NW Arkansas.

The only sure plan that I have at this moment is my trip to Italy and France in June. I have already bought the plane's tickets and made all the reservations for the apt. in Rome, hotels in Venice, Nice, and Paris.
I will also spend 8 days in Provence to visit my sister that lives in a cute small village, 30 km. from Uzes and my dear cousin in Avignon.
I am thinking to go to Santa Fe for a week during Spring break with my daughter and my grandchildren, but this is not a sure thing.

Big trip to Rome/Amalfi Coast/Paris for 2-3 weeks in June, bringing a first-timer who desperately needs a get-away. Can't wait. I wish all fodorites happiness in their travels in 2005 and beyond!

Iregeo, we will be renting a beach shack on Great Keppel Island, Qld (coral reefs fringe the island), we live about 4 hrs drive south of the departure point for this coral island, then later in September, 2005, we will be returning to London, to see our son & daughter in law, and our "first" grandchild. Before leaving London, we are flying from Gatwick across to the greek island of Samos, then staying in a self contained villa, on the southern coastline in a village called Ormos (also our first trip to Greece....we are hoping by late Sept/early October, the tourist crowd will have dropped off...we just want to chill out in a sleepy fishing village, with a beach nearby)
