HANDICAP PARKING

WE ARE GOING TO NORMANDY AND FLORENCE IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS. WE PLAN ON RENTING A CAR, AND I WONDERING IF THE HAD HANICAP PARKING SIGNS.

I rented a car in France while traveling with my brother, who was confined to a wheelchair. He brought his Florida-issued handicapped hang tag, and we were fine everywhere. Do not expect the rental car agency to provide you with a sign, as most places require a doctor's note to issue the handicapped permit.

Do a search for handicapped parking or parking permits on this Forum. You will find a lot of discussion that will be helpful.

BTW, using all caps on the web is taken as shouting and is considered impolite.

Bring your handicap sign from home and use it which is basically what you will learn by performing the suggested forum search (a search is still a good idea).

You must possess your own handicap sign. Once you have it, you will find the handicapped parking to be plentiful and convenient.

Note: in Paris, if you have a handicapped permit, parking is free in any normal parking space on the street.
