Handicap Parking

Is a US issued handicap parking sign (hanging from the rear view mirror) valid in EU countries? Does it exempt one from parking fees? I will be driving in Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, and Germany.

No and no. This is what you need:

No need to keep posting this over and over again. Once is enough.

There have been several threads about using US-issued handicap hang tags in Europe. Technically I suppose you do need a "official" placard from the EU country. But in practice, several people have reported being able to use their US placards.

Do a search (use the advanced search function) and you'll find some good info . . . .

Here is one fairly recent thread on the subject. There are more, just search as janisj has suggested:

Since 1997, handicap placards issued in the US (among other countries) are recognized in each and every EU member state:

Please note the possible caveats on the bottom of that website for each member state.

You do NOT need to get any EU member states' national handicap placard, sticker, or else.
