Hampton Court Ice Rink

An interesting idea for Fodorites visiting London in December/early Jan. http://www.hamptoncourticerink.co.uk
We have just booked our combined tickets for the Palace and the ice rink and it seems that they are selling fast.u

Thanks for the tip. We will be there at the right time and the kids would love it.

I was in London in November last year and at Hampton Court while they were building the ice rink. It was small -- not to disappoint, but just to warn you!

When we were in London last December, there were also ice skating rinks set up at Somerset House and in front of the County Hall building.

We happened by the SomersetHouse rink one evening and got to see a skating exhibition by two skaters from the British Olympic team.

This is something to look forward to.
We are thinking of the coming holidays.

Thanks for the warning ucsbalum. We come from a country where it hardly ever snows and the average temp in December is about 30 degrees celcius, so outdoor skating (in any form)will be a real treat for us!
