Halstatt to Matterhorn
My husband and I are planning a trip to Europe summer of 2014 and there is one leg of the trip that we could use some help with. We will have about 7-10 days to travel from Halstatt, Austria to Zermatt, Switzerland and we wanted to take the scenic route through the Swiss Alps. We will have our own car and the only places we have come up with that we want to visit are Interlaken and Gimmelwald. We are open to suggestions on what to see, where to stay and what to do. Thanks!

You should definitely plan to spend a couple of days on Lake Constance (aka Bodensee). With a car you can easily stay in Meersburg and visit Birnau with its lovely Baroque church as well as Uberlingen with it's beautiful lake promenade and old town.

Stein am Rhein is small and can be seen in a few hours if you wish. Lucerne deserves as much time as you can devote as there are boat rides you can take and mountain vistas you can traverse. http://dvd.netflix.com/Movie/Miss-Fi...?trkid=5966279 http://www.luzern.com/en/index.cfm |
Ignore the third link (Netflix link) above! Don't know how that happened!

Thank you for the suggestions! We looked at all of them and definitely put Lake Constance on the itinerary.
