Half price theatre tickets

We're going to London in late July. Has anyone been able to get half-price tickets to Lion King, Mamma Mia, Noises Off, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? If we have to get full price ones, are the seats way up in the upper gallery satisfactory? We can't really afford the expensive seats but would like our kids t have the experience of London theatre. Thanks.

I got half price tickets to Noises Off and the seats were pretty good from what I remember. I went alone which might have helped. I was actually able to get half-price tickets for all the shows I wanted. I didn't have an interest any of the others one you mentioned.

Noises Off is about to close this month...the others are never available at half price ticket both as they sell out.

You can call the box office of each of the theatres direct to get seats.

We just saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (FANTASTIC) in London. We did have great seats (but we only have one child). It's pretty packed every night so I doubt you will be able to get half price tickets up close, but even further back I think it would be great just bring opera glasses or binnoculars and it should be fine. Kids can get booster seats there also.

Went to see Lion King earlier last week. The tickets were bought direct through the box office and were full price (about £30). The seats were high up, but you still get a great view of the whole production.

I thought it was good, costumes, songs etc, but the kids in the audience absolutely loved it, clapping, cheering etc ... take your kids, I'm sure they'll love it too.

For guaranteed tickets on-line try (beware though, they charge a little extra): http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/cgi/asp_events/perfname.asp?searchname=Disney_Presents_The_Lion_K ing&vaxname=UK3&venuenum=316&category=THEATRE

Good luck and have fun!
