Half board in Rome good value?
My family of 5 is looking at either room + breakfast at Hotel Paba or Hotel Guiliana for 190 Euro in January 08 or hald board (Breakfast + 3 course meal for the five of us) at Hotel Lancelot for 310 Euro. Do you think the latter is good value. I understand it is better quality hotel as well. All 3 rate very highly on Trip Advisor.

I don't know that particular hotel - someone will have details for you. But for me personally, I never<.u> book half or full board in a major city like Rome. Maybe in a very small place where there are few if any restaurants like a tiny village or on an island. But when there are thousands of good to great places to eat in all price ranges - do you really want to be tied to one hotel that may or may not have food you like?????

Rats - sorry about no turning off the underline

Hi J,
I agree with janis. You don't need 1/2 board in Rome. You might not need bkfst either. ((I)) |
THanks you've convinced me. I won't go with the half board. Breakfast seems to be standard inclusion in Rome (and not many other places I am going on this holiday like USA, Paris)

You would have to look at your budget also. How much are you willing to spend on dinner for 5 each night. It looks like taking half board it will cost you an additional 120 Euros for dinner vs. just bed & breakfast.
If you have little ones who will just eat a couple of plates of pasta for dinner, yes, it makes sense to just go for the B&B. ((b)) |
