Greetings
I will be visiting in Rome next week and am need of a good stylist and colorist. I work In Kabul so have to wait to get my hair done while on leave, and Rome should be a great place for this! Anyone have a favorite? I'm staying in ancient Rome.

You actually might be as disappointed in Roman hairstylists as you are with Afghani. I suggest you try posting on the Rome message board over on Tripadvisor, where some Roman residents sometimes post, or e-mailing ron in rome and pleading for help.

It is always difficult to communicate with a new hairstylist about what you want, even in your own language. I would like for a stylist fluent in English and if that isn't possible, try to take an Italian speaker with you who can translate what you want, or work with an Italian speaker to write down what you want.

Or google up a picture of a famous person whose hair you like and print it out and take it with you.

I would be especially careful you have a clear understanding about what color you want. Italian ideas of attractive hair coloring are unique!

I have no experience at this salon, but it was opened by friends of friends. The three partners have all worked in California and have reputations as good colorists.
