hair dryers in Austrian hotels?

Hi all:

Does any one know wether or not most 4 or 5 star hotels in Austria have hair dryers in the bathrooms? We are staying mostly in small resort towns (Lech, Zell am See, Heiligenblut, Fuschl, etc.).

Any help woudl be appreciated!

Thanks,
TML

My experience with hair dryers in Europe is you may as well be trying to dry your hair by someone blowing on it through a straw.

Have you checked the websites of the hotels in which you'll be staying? They might mention hair dryers among their amenities, but I would be very surprised if 4 or 5 star hotels did not include hair dryers. Even 3 star hotels I've stayed in always have them.

I usually bring my own German-bought hair dryer, but I'm not going to do that this trip to Austria, so I hope I'm right. It's just one more thing to add weight to my suitcase.

In my experience every 4 or 5* hotel in europe has hair dryers. Many are not that powerful (esp if in older buildings with sub-par wiring). But - bringing your own more powerful unit is more likely to blow either your hair dryer or the hotel wiring rather than drying your hair.

It does depend on the individual hotel, but most do. My wife has always managed just fine with hotel hair dryers in Europe. Check the individual hotel websites--email them if the website doesn't say.

All hotels 3* and up have to have hair dryers, according to the Austrian hotel classification system. It does not say, however, how powerful the hair dryer has to be.

I have never had a place in Austria that did not have hair dryers and I usually stay in 3 star hotels.
Hotel hair dryers work fine for me as I have fine hair.
