Gyor Hotels?
 

We have to spend 3 nights in Gyor visiting relatives during our Hungarian jaunt next June. Of course, the cousin we wouldn't mind staying with hasn't got room for us while the ‘other’ one has lots. So . . . any decent hotels you could suggest? I found the Hotel Schweizerhof. Any others?

We were in Gyor several years ago. I can't remember which hotel we stayed at but I check back to my Rough Guide. There were several listed including the Hotel Schweizerhof, which they write is the best in town. Check out the Rough Guide or another. I couldn't find any listed in Fodors Eastern and Central Europe. Ir is a very nice place.

Thanks aeiger. It does seem to be more than just an industrial town. We'll also be visiting Budapest, Eger & Sopron (more relatives) as well as some tiny ancestral villages but I have hotels picked everywhere else. My wife speaks Magyar, which should help. We're renting a car & touring.

I'll check out the Rough Guide.
