Guinness Storehouse Bar

Hello,

Does anyone know whether or not the bar on the top floor of the Guinness Storehouse is accessible without touring the whole thing? I'd like to check the view and have a Guinness up there but am not interested in paying the tour price to do so!

Thanks :-)

Sorry, lunarella, but as far as I know you can only visit the Gravity bar as part of the tour. It's a while since I toured the Storehouse but you used to get a free pint as part of your admission price if that makes a difference to you.

Maybe one of our Dubliner Fodorites will confirm.

JJBhoy is correct. You must pay for the tour to go up for a pint. This is not a cash bar so you cannot go up and buy a pint. The tour is fun why not go for the experience. The only time you can get a drink without the tour is if you rent for a private function and our company did that several years ago before the official bar opened and it cost us approx £3,000 or maybe it was euro??. Its a lovely view day and night.

Another "drink" tour is Jameson which has an actual pub beside it and the tour ends here. It is a public bar so anyone can go in and get a drink. It is located in Smithfield.

The above comments are right but I thought the Guiness Storehouse was a ver yworthwhile thing to do. I went last June for the second time but I don't think it's as good as it used to be. It had been revamped since I went a number of years back and the experience seems to have been Disney-fied a bit since then (but still with a pint of Guinness at the end!).

The best improvement though is the bar (Gravity) at the top with views across Dublin. Dublin is not a particularly attractive city to see from above so I'd be reluctant to go just for the view (especially if you don't want to do the tour) but it gives you a good overview of the city layout etc

Thank you so much for the info.
It was my first time posting and I am amazed by the quick response.
