Guimares help please
 

We are going to do a day trip via train to Guimares from Porto. What sights would you recommend for this day trip in Guimares? So far I have noted Old Town, Palace of Dukes of Brag, Guimares Castle, Pinha Sanctuary, Paco dos Duques, Nossa Senhora da Oliveira.

we recently did the opposite....rented an apartment in Guimaraes for five (5) days and did a day trip via train to Porto (1 hour).
As for Guimaraes...Beautiful, Beautiful....a medieval city, with incredible architecture, cobbled stone roads, and narrow alleyways with all kinds of shop and restaurants. The castle and its ruins are right in the center of town and great to explore. Not a lot of sights, but the whole atmosphere of the town and its medieval origins make it a must see. Be prepared to take lots of pictures! And as Im sure you know, it is considered the birthplace of Portugal. We loved it,the people were super friendly and the meals and drinks were very, very affordable....I think you will enjoy.
