guided tours in Paris
 

Hey Fodorites! Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation for walking tours in Paris. There will be three of us and we don't mind walking with a larger group. We're interested in "touristy Paris" and "out of the ordinary Paris". We have six days in Paris and we'd like to hear the history and/or interesting facts as we walk through the city.
One more question. Does anyone have info regarding Air France shuttle buses running from CDG to vaious points in the city? What is the best transportation from CDG? On a previous trip, we found the taxis to be pricey and the metro to be a bit of a stuggle with our luggage.

There is a card pack of walking tours==I am sure B*N has it.
If you google "walking tours Paris" you will find all you could possibly want.
I also like the DK guide to Paris=they do things by large areas of Paris and you could tailor your own walking tour.

We took several of these walking tours and loved them. Inexpensive and fun. And the Bike Tour to Monet's Gardens and the Segway tour at night was fabulous.

For 3 people , you could take those "canned" walking tours that last an hour or 2...or you could contact Michael Osman . He'll spend as many hours as you want or can handle, and all for one low fee.

Those card pack walking cards are called Paris Walks and are not worth the paper they are printed on. They mostly cover shops and cafes..I think the author must get a cut!

I also recommend the Paris Walk tours which usually take 2 hours if they are in an area you wish to visit. You will go into a few places that you would not normally have gone into and they will be interesting. You will also meet a lot of nice people on the walk.

Re Shuttle Buses: Air France goes to
Arc de Triomphe or Port Maillot. The
Roissey bus goes to Rue Scribe behind
Opera Garnier.
