Do you want a personal guide or to join a guided tour? American Express offers a one-day guided bus tour to San Gimignano and Siena.

I should have mentioned there is an AMEX office near the Duomo.

Luca from hillsandroads.com; best price you are going to find for quality private guide. Only 25E/hour. See my tripreport or do a search above for Luca and his website.

Another recommendation for Luca Garapa of Hillsandroads.com. We did several day trips with him last year, and thought he was reasonable and really great!

mwoodrowe, I would recommend Country Tours based in Siena. Last year, although, we had rented a car, another guest at the Hotel Ravizza in Siena told us about Country Tours. We booked the next day and had a great tour of Pienza, Montepulciano, and another city. Guide said they did a great deal of work in Florence. Having a guide was worth the price - no hassle. Check out Country Tours in Siena.
Enjoy Tuscany!
