Is there any maps of the outer part of London? Most of the maps are for the center of London. I am going to be staying on the outside of the city.

How far outside of London? A to Z's cover a huge area, most of it outside of central London. The way most versions are laid out there are about 130+ maps of all parts of London and then the central area is covered by about 20 maps in a larger scale. So if you are staying out in the suburbs or an outer borough get an A to Z, and you'll be covered for just about everything.

I bought Streetwise for Paris,at B & N this past Spring, and found it much easier to read than other maps. If you are a Lonely Planet type of traveler, definitely go that way for off the beaten path. Maybe also try catching the Rough Guide and Globetrekker series(shows) for great ideas of what to explore especially if you are hiking, hopping on trains or driving. Enjoy!

My Barnes and Noble didn't have the middleditch or A-Z map, and since it's just a week in town I picked up the streetwise. If we go for longer sometime (when the dollar recovers!) I'll be sure to pick on of the others up.
