Guide Book for Brittany & Normandy ?
Hi, I have about a week in Brittany/Normandy and will have a car. Any recommendations for one guide book that covers both areas? I'd rather not tote 2 books around if possible. I saw that Rough Guide has one, but I have no experience with them.
I have used the Michelin Green Guides and while I know most like them best, I'm just not crazy about them. I don't like the way they "feel" (too tightly bound?) -- not the info they contain. Crazy, but true. Any recommendations would be appreciated. |

I'm going there in May and I'm taking Lonely Planet's "Brittany
and Normandy" for sure and then tear-outs from various out-of-date guides. Also have a Thomas Cook Brittany book that is comprehensive. |
If you're driving the AA (British AAA) have some guides to Normandy and Brittany that aren't bad.
|
And if binding is a problem, the AA have some spiral bound guides.
|
You might consider: "Drive Around Brittany and Normandy," a Thomas Cook book.
|
I, too, like the Thomas Cook guide. It has great suggestions for driving trips.
|
Thank you to all. I have a AAA spiral bound guide for Paris that I really like didn't know they had one for Brittany/Normandy.
I'll also check out Lonely Planet and Thomas Cook on amazon.com. |
Another thumbs up for the Thomas Cook Driving Around guides. We have them for all the European areas they publish.

My first time I used the rough guide and for restaurants the Gastronigue and the Pierre deux books on Brittany and Normandy and everyone was a winner!
