But why do you need one? Central Istanbul is very walkable, and if you want to go the the Kariye Camii or over to the Asian side, there are trams and ferries.

All to easy.

yes , maybe no need to use a driver for three days but there are 59 museums and memorial palaces to go and see.

so, by alone it will be more diffucult and they will lose time while they will looking around for museums..and by the way the museum fees will be more cheaper when you use a travel agency..
I prefer to use a professional guide...

IT WILL BE MORE RATIONALLY.....

hope to see you in istanbul...

You may be right, Aral, or you may have a vested interest.

Personally, as a three times visitor to your wonderful city, I can't think of anything worse than being ferried around.

To even start to get to know a city you need to walk, and take public transport and connect with the people who live there. Otherwise why bother? There may well be 59 museums to see but nobody in their right mind would try to see them all in one visit.

If the OP needs to see the city that way then fine - horses for courses. It's just not my way of travelling and all I wanted to do was suggest to the OP that plenty of people visit and love it without having a car and driver.

Tis all.

afterall,

fýrst of all,

I just recommended some programs for bear and as I mentioned at my last mail, may be they will not need for drivers but they will need a professional guide.. most of the people do like this...
this is my opinion and I recommended those things just for the bear because bear asked for a driver and guide..

and ofcourse there are 59 museums are not mean to see in a 1 time.
I mean that ýf they do their tour with a guide, they will find enough time to see what they want...because they have just three days and ýt wýll never enough to visit istanbul in 3 days....

see you and have a nice days with out prejudge...

aral Nov 13th, 2008 01:18 AM

and what do you mean by vested ýnterest....
HOW CAN YOU SAY THIS TO ME..
WHO ARE YOU ? ...

ARE YOU A MEMBER S B ...

DO YOU HAVE SOME PROBLEMS WITH YOUR EYES?

BECAUSE I THINK THAT YOU HAVE SOME PERCEPTIONAL PROBLEMS...!!!
AND PLEASE DONT WRITE ANYTHINK TO ME

Aral,

I'm afraid your true colours are showing. It's a pity you've taken this attitude because you may have lost a few potential customers.

aral Nov 13th, 2008 01:56 AM

schuler,

ý see that you are frýend wýth afterall..
ý am not a company or even a clýent hunter..
ý suggest ideas for the foreign people for istanbul...

I from greece and just love people and want to help them..
AND DONT WORRY , I AM NOT A DEALER OR SMTHNG
I WORK FOR RAINBOW LLC.
But I got nervous when people understand me wrongly...

Leaving Aral out of it for now; Bear has not been back.

Bear has doubtless paid a mega amount for a car and driver they don't need. But that's OK if that's what they want.

Helps the Turkish economy.

But sometimes you wonder ...

Some travelers wish to see things with a guide and who could open up further according to their interests and own time. Some joins a collective group tour still having a guide and see places in a schedule. Some reads a guide book and explore the city at own rhythm.

Some have no time and needs guiding to cover most must seen parts without wasting time.... All is fine.
Most important is to enjoy. Weather one visits all the sites or just few does not matter. There is always something good for every age and every taste in Istanbul.
Just enjoy.... Happy travelling,

Murat
