Guest house or small hotel - Aix en Provence or nearby

I will be traveling by myself, between Nice and Aix and wondered if there were any recommendations for a guest house or really any accomodation more fun and comfortable for someone traveling alone. I'm not young, just looking to get in some sketching and enjoy the sun.

I googled "gites provence" and got many links to B&Bs, farmhouses (Mas) and the like. I will be staying at Moulin du Rossignol in Rognes. An antique farmhouse and it looks charming. I also has a number of travel publications listed as references.

What a joy it is to know about this site...gites.com! Fabulous. Do you know of any similar site for Italy and/or Greece?

Thank you! for sharing!

I travelled by myself last year and stayed in Aix en Provence for four nights at the La Maison de Carlotta, 9 rue Frederic Mistral. It was right in the centre of town, just off the Cours Mirabeau, couldnt' have been more conveniently placed. It is a B and B style, with a very friendly lady running it. I stayed in the small room which quite frankly for four nights was a bit too small. The other larger room was not that more expensive and I would opt for that. It is up stairs but very authentic. Cezanne's widow used to live here. I have included a link but not sure if it will work. Just google, la Maison de Carlotta Aix en Provence and it will come up. Hope this helps.
