Grumpy Traveleres

On this forum I have seen people referring to some as grumpy travelers. How in the world could someone be grumpy when on vacation? What a waste. There are people who would give anything to travel and then there are those who get to go and are grumpy. Doesnt make sense.

jody Jun 4th, 2003 02:52 PM

Doesn't make sense to me either..but it is a fact of life!

If everything is not just like it is at home , they get all upset!

Why bother?

Scarlett Jun 4th, 2003 03:14 PM

Most likely those grumpy folks are grumpy at home too.

maitaitom Jun 4th, 2003 03:14 PM

On vacation, much like everywhere else, "Attitude is Life; Life is Attitude." Some people just have a bad or negative attitude about just about anything, whether it be at home, in business or even (amazingly) on vacation. Some people just like to complain. Life is way too short too hang around with people like that, so I don't.

maitaitom Jun 4th, 2003 03:16 PM

"Life is way too short too hang..."

Dammit, I made the dreaded 'to' 'too' faux pas. I shall immediately give myself thrty lashes and a mai tai.

goldwynn Jun 4th, 2003 03:28 PM

Maitaitom: Me thinks you do this on purpose so you can get some more mai tais.

JandaO Jun 4th, 2003 03:29 PM

ok...
Mai-Tais for everyone !!!

Scarlett Jun 4th, 2003 03:30 PM

At the risk of driving you to another round of maitais, did you notice the typo thrty???

:)hee hee Pour me one too, I am so sick of rain!! I might get grumpy!!

Sue_xx_yy Jun 4th, 2003 03:53 PM

I'll have one too, please. : - )

I think some people are more sensitive to stimulation than others: what I would find as exciting, they find overwhelming and tiring. It's also possible that they're just trying to do too much, not giving themselves enough opportunity to relax and adjust at an easier pace to all the strangeness.

maitaitom Jun 4th, 2003 03:58 PM

"At the risk of driving you to another round of maitais, did you notice the typo thrty???

Not to mention, I spelled the name of my hotel incorrectly. Maybe a mai tai WOULD help.

jody Jun 4th, 2003 04:00 PM

Fill 'er up!
Mai Tais RULE!

maitaitom Jun 4th, 2003 04:02 PM

I think I have entered the Twilight Zone, because I responded to something I did in another post (hotel spelling error). I blame it all on JandaO who made the first typo in the headline and now has doomed me to a life of terrible spelling.

bluefan Jun 4th, 2003 04:09 PM

Hand me one too!

I need one after dealing with a "grumpy" on the airline forum...whew!!! Some people are sure harder to please than others.

Hey Tom, bet you can't wait to get out to Maui for some of the best mai tais at Momma's Fish House!!!

maitaitom Jun 4th, 2003 04:18 PM

"Hey Tom, bet you can't wait to get out to Maui for some of the best mai tais at Momma's Fish House!!!"

I actually have a convention to attend in Maui next year. Momma's Fish House will now be put on my schedule (perhaps ahead of the convention). Merci.

Scarlett Jun 4th, 2003 05:11 PM

Tom,
did you ever think that JandaO had too many maitais when typing that Headline?

maitaitom Jun 4th, 2003 05:33 PM

"did you ever think that JandaO had too many maitais when typing that Headline?"

I can relate. Perhaps Sammy Sosa can use that excuse, too. I'll email him. Although, I'm sure he would say, "Put a cork it in it, Tom."

Scarlett Jun 4th, 2003 05:57 PM

Tom =D>

zekieboo Jun 4th, 2003 06:03 PM

I missed a restaurant in Maui?? Where is Momma's Fish House? :-)

bluefan Jun 4th, 2003 06:14 PM

zekieboo, how could you miss MAMA's Fish House in Paia on Maui? You caught my spelling error!

If you were being serious, it's a can't miss gastronomic institution on Maui...the best seafood and mai tais this chowhound has experienced. Hell, if wasn't for that place, I'd be visiting Italy every year from now on instead of mixing in Hawaii once in a while!

kismetchimera Jun 4th, 2003 06:36 PM

Aloha maitaitom, I could use a mai tai also. Mahalo...:)
