On our visit to London in late July, would it be better to visit Greenwich on a weekend or during the week? We might travel there on the DLR and return on a boat.

I've been twice, both times on a Sunday. I think it's a great day to go there. Had a picnic in the park by the Royal Observatory, there was a brass band playing in a gazebo & locals were playing football. Very relaxed vibe at the pubs, too. Good idea to take the boat back - you come around a bend in the Thames and St Paul's dome & Tower bridge come into view - it's a great thing to see - much more striking on the return than outgoing.

Either are fine - it's a big place so can absorb numbers. However it is a good deal busier at the weekend.

I went on a Saturday and there was a nice market. I don't know if it's there on other days though.

Go while you have the chance - they want to develop the site.
