Greek Islands in June for active couple
Hi there,
The flights are booked and my boyfriend and I are heading to Greece for our first time this June! We are in our late twenties/early thirties and very active. We enjoy hiking, snorkeling, SCUBA, bike riding and exploring what different destinations have to offer. If you have any suggestions regarding companies or cool things to do, we'd appreciate it immensely! :) Also, we are in need of hotel recommendations--nothing 5 star, budget but nice and possibly near the water. Current Itinerary (but open to suggestions) Athens: 1 day Ferry from Athens to Crete (Souda) Crete: 4-5 days Ferry from Crete to Santorini Santorini: 2-3 days Naxos or Paros: 2 days (SCUBA on Antiparos one day) 4th island recommendation for 2 days? Ferry back to Athens I'm very excited about this trip and will be sure to share my findings when I return! Thanks to all posters! |
Hi
Firstly I think Athens deserves more time - there is a lot to see and do. I haven't been to Naxos but it gets heaps of praise in this forum. I stayed on Paros and really, really loved it. I never got to Antiparos but a poster in this forum called Heimdall is a fan and quite knowledgeable. Just search her posts. So if you're into diving, more time on Antiparos. By the way there is a spectacular cave there to check out. Into hiking and scenery spend a couple of days on Naxos. Wanna chill out - Paros. Lastly and most importantly what is your daily budget for accommodation? |

Naxos needs more than 2 days to discover the island. I'd say stay a night in Athens and add a day to Naxos or Paros.
