greek ferries

Does anyone have any experiencce of travelling by ferry from Patras to Corfu and then later onto Ingoumenitsa? We are hoping to do this in May and then by bus to Meteora.
I would be grateful for any advice.

Another good resource for ferry schedules is http://www.gtp.gr/

You just type in your start and end points and it comes up with all the different companies/options, rather than having to look through each different shipping company's website.

Also try www.openseas.gr

For Patra to Kerkira ("Corfu"), see www.minoan.gr and www.anek.gr.
These are ships operating to Italy and have cabins, restaurants, etc.
From Kerkira to Igoumenitsa, there are fairly frequent local ferries taking between one and two hours.
