Greek bike tours
Many years ago I noticed that wherever I go on holiday the country has a crisis (last year Iceland had a major financial failure once I booked a trip). I'm now looking at biking in Greece and I hear it may have to crash out of the Euro. Anyway, throwing responsibility to one side, anyone done any good bike tours here?

We too love to take bike trips, but we prefer flat. I don't know for sure but am guessing that many trips in Greece are in fairly mountainours terrain with lots of hills.
Haven't used these people, but here is a link.

Well, no specific bike tour company to suggest, but you may enjoy reading the book "Greece on My Wheels" by Edward Enfield.
Enfield is a retired Englishman (age 60+ ?) who describes two solo bike tours taken through Greece. Enjoyable, casual, light reading.

Also, not exactly a 'tour' like I think you're seeking, but this guy:

wrote up his all-day 2005 bike tour through the Attikis (Athens) region.
Cycling in the rural parts of Greece, is likely less harrowing
Greece just doesn't have the long cycling tradition and history, as Italy and Spain.

My bus from Ioannina to Meteora had to pull over and wait for a bike race to go through. I thought they were nuts racing up the mountains I'd just come down. I suppose they weren't as bad as the Tour de France, but unless you're in good shape you're in the wrong country.
