Greece Tour

Planning a trip to Greece in 2010 and prefer pre-planned tours. Looking for suggestions for preferred tour companies and selected tours. Party will be 3 women -- no kids. Thanks for any suggestions.

a few questions...are you interested in a land-lubber tour or do you want to combine a cruise with it?

The best advice I can offer is for you to contact both Fantasy Travel and Dolphin-Hellas Travel, both excellent travel agencies in Athens who are very well-respected and come highly recommended by foreign travellers who prefer dealing with a company in Greece so there's someone to contact for immediate problem-solving should the need arise. They will work with you to help you create the best tour for the money spent.

My daughter and I did an Insight tour that combined mainland Greece with a week of island hopping. We enjoyed it very much.

You can check out Grand European Tours (www.getours.com). They offer a tour of Greece and the islands. I went with GET to the UK last year and had a great time!

Hi

It really depends on your budget. We used Cosmos (3 star). It was excellent. We have also used Insight (5 star). This was for Turkey and they were excellent too.

I would recommend Tauck Tours (5-star). I have taken a number of tours with them and am considering taking their 10-day Greece tour this fall. It goes only to the mainland and the Peloponese though. They also have a tour on my list of to-dos which goes to Athens, Mycenae, Epidaurus then via small ship to the islands, Rhodes and on to Turkey (Ephesus and Istanbul). Their web site is www.tauck.com.
