Greece- Is it safe??????

I am planning our august vacation, and am unsure whether Greece is safe to travel. We have two blond teenage daughters, who look VERY american! Any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks, cathy

I've traveled alone in Greece. The men are charming and flirtatious--they even have games of flirting with foreign women. The character of the people is open and honest and, yes, lusty--but I have never heard of a problem, as in some other countries, of force or violence in regard to flirting. If you can accept a rather open admiration and not see darker motives in it, you will be fine, I'm sure. Besides, you'll be chaperoning--(watch out for yourself; from my experience, Greeks seem to appreciate women of all ages!)

I've been in Greece ( Crete) this summer. No problems, although there was anti- Nato and anti american graffitti near a US naval base. They rely so much on tourism that there are unlikely to give you grief <BR>

There is no fear at all. I have travelled there several times and once even went there alone. I didnot get harrassed nor was bothered at all. Greek men are friendly and talkative but that is their charm. I had an easier time in Greece than in Italy.
