Greece in 2008: Boardshorts or Speedo?
At the end of August I will be spending 10 nights in Greece. It will be my first trip there in 23 years. I know this is a silly question, but...
I have two types of bathing suit -- a new, unworn Quicksilver boardshort and the traditional black Speedo.
While I am no spring chicken and have little-to-no muscle definition I am not obese either. 6'1", about 200 pounds.
What's the best bet to wear in 2008 Greece to reduce my chances of being verbally abused and ridiculed?

I cant imagine the Greeks will care either way. When I was there last there were people in every kind of bathing suit (and some in none at all in fact) Where what you will enjoy more.
Have fun in lovely Greece!

Agree that in europe you will see everything - and I do mean everything.
It's best to wear what YOU will be comfortable in - esp if someone will be taking holiday photos.
(Personally my belief is that speedos belong only on those with bodies like competitive swimmers.)

If you just want to spend time on the beach to sun bathe, wear whatever you feel comfortable in.
If you want to swim, speedos or similar are the better choice since they dry much faster, which would be what your doctor recommended.
The only place I've seen people being verbally "abused" and ridiculed for wearing speedos would be this forum.
