I didn't realize that there was a heat wave in Geece. Any Fodorite there right now?

Yes I am.

Athens has been very hot. Mid week it was 46 degrees.

On same day here on Mykonos it was 39 degrees.

This is hotest June I think since 100 years.

What about the smoke from the fire? How bad it is there?

Dukey Jun 29th, 2007 03:19 PM

Yes, you need A/C <G>..sorry, couldn't resist.

Here, we have no smoke but I have friend on Symi island who said to me today that they have pink hazeiness over the island coming from smoke.

Air Conditioning. Ah. We have so many power cut-offs this week becasue of too much electricity taken by AC that it is hopeless. This happens on our island but also all over Greece it is the same.

It is cooler today but Athens has nefos and heat make it very bad this year.

It's been over 40C here in Parga too.

A bit cooler the last couple of days :)

Last night we even had an earthquake ... just to add to the excitement. Everybody running out of restaurants ...

That wasn't part of my holiday plans ...
