Greece Cancelled
 

After many months of research & great help from all of you, I've had to cancel my trip to Athens & the Greek Islands. My friend got cold feet. I was suppose to leave Thursday. In light of all the people who lost their lives, it is a small sacrifice indeed. I just wanted to thank you for the great advice. I'll continue to live vicariously off the forum.

Surprise, sweetheart, but your friend is NO friend. I can tell you are deeply disappointed in not going to fabulous Greece. Did you think about going by yourself? I travel by myself alot, and I love it. If I were your friend, I would go with you. If you do decide to reschedule your trip--find another friend to take along. Ciao, JG

I feel for you Lisa. I too research my trip to Greece and Italy for 15 months on Fodors. We were suppose to be in Greece on Saturday, but we cancelled our flights our plans on Thursday and Delta cancelled our flights on Friday. I think you made the correct decision. I think you will see a posting recalling Americans and/or warning them to be on the highest alert in the Mediterranean. <BR>I don't have the heart to plan my trip again for a while. Maybe I'll try again in a couple of years. <BR>What about you? <BR>

A couple of years? I'm hoping for May!

I just responded to another posting like this-I think you made the right decision-I just returned from Greece on Sunday after being there during the attack on NY-my husband and I were lucky enough to be on the first scheduled flight out of Greece-there are many americans stuck there b/c of backlog in flights and while we felt safe it is stressful being abroad while all this is going on-Delta had not had any flights going out as of last Sunday and Olympic only has a few a day-so if something else happens it will be hard to get home-hope this helps a little.
