Great Seafood restaurant in Paris?

Sort of an anti-recommendation here: Bar des Huitres gets mentioned often in guidebooks. We went to the one in St. Germain (I think there are three locations) and were very disappointed. Then again, we didn't order the house special, which is a big pizza tray full of shellfish on ice (can't think what it's called). Maybe that's good.

Bofinger, a seafood bistro near the Place de la Bastille, would be a good choice.

Bar au Sel, in the 7th along the Quai d'Orsay - kind of between the Eiffel Tower and the River. Very very very good. Concur with Martha that Bar des Huitres is very missable.

Le Petit Nicois (10 rue Amelie, 7e) near the rue Cler, has wonderful bouillabaisse, served in vast quantities in the pot in which it is cooked. The owner is charming. It was the perfect meal for a rainy afternoon....

Le Bistrot du Dome in the Montparnasse area is a pretty safe bet for seafood and pretty nice ambience.

Hi Jenn & all, I agree with the Bars des Huitres review...Very disappointing dinner, we should have gone to Bofingers instead! I think maybe a revision in "Access Paris" is in order.

Whenever I am in Pairs, I try to take a night and go to one of those Beer-chain restaurants (Kanterbrau or?) and have mussels in beer and cherry Kreik. Not your traditional seafood, but its reasonably-priced and fun. The same restaurants also have a festalboard-style sausages and sauerkraut specialty, too. I love Alsatian food.
