Hotel Parc Saint Severin in December

Have booked penthouse in Parc Saint Severin in December...Has anyone been there recently. Is the Latin Quarter quieter in December? Do you think a terrace is a good idea in December, or should I think about Duc de Saint Simon as an alternative. I'm only there for a weekend. Thanks

My buddy had one of those balcony cabins on her Alaskan cruise, so she sat out on it, wearing socks, coat, gloves, hat... guess you could do the same.

We loved our "penthouse" at Parc Saint Severin a few years ago -- particularly the wrap around terrace where we'd sit and sip wine, watch the sunsets, then the lights come on at Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower. But that was August. Somehow I find it hard to warm up to the idea (pardon the pun) in December.

So the view would be wonderful, even if cold... maybe that would still be worth the expense...?

Right about the bundling up..I just wonder if it's raining, is the view from the inside the room meets the higher rate that I've been quoted..Im actually more concerned about the room itself, Patrick..how did you find the furnishings..nice or just so so...

The furnishings were quite nice, not extraordinary. Nothing like Relais St.Germain, for example, but certainly a big step up from places like Citadines. But I'm not sure if all the rooms are decorated as nicely as number 70.

I stayed in a single room there a couple years ago and although small, it was very nicely decorated, with a bathroom almost as big as the room. So I can't say for sure, but I would assume all their rooms keep the same standard.
