Great fares Newark- Madrid in on Air Europa
Earlier today I was looking up the Air Europa website to give some info to another poster and noticed that Air Europa has some great fares in July- August to Madrid.
I kept putting random dates for these months and was getting rates in the $400-$550. These flights are Continental flights that Air Europa codeshares. The same flights in the Continental website are quoted around$800-$900+ dollars!

This is true, and if you're lucky you can also get similar great fares from SEA, and probably other cities too (someone found such a fare leaving from DEN, for example). I don't know why the cost is the same as from EWR - my ticket for SEA-MAD was approximately $458 USD total.

Did you find the site in English? All I can find is the Spanish site, which I could probably actually figure out, but I'd prefer English. The link on the upper right of the site where you select languages only offers Spanish.

As far as I know Air Europa only flies into US via their codeshare with Continental into their hub in Newark, NJ, however, I'm not 100% sure.
I couldn't get the english site to load the departure cities , so I did it in the spanish site since I'm fluent. If anybody wants me to check dates or translate the site I'll be happy to. I found their fares excellent for the time of the year.
Willtravel,
Thanks for the tip about Orbitz. I've never used that site.

igpjazz, you could do that as well as anyone, because the Air Europa site won't help you with Chicago departures (it only has EWR departures). I'd start with Orbitz, and try adjusting your dates. Also look at ITASoftware.com - although this does not necessarily pick up the best fares for this.

I went to itasoftware.com, did a search for EWR-MAD non-stop and specified Air Europa only. Results for July:
$639 - 7/9, 7/17
$685 - 4 other days
$910 - 5 other days
$960 - 7/2
$1210 - 7/1
No fare available - 18 days
I picked 6-8 nights. Fares may be slightly difference if you use other search criteria.
Therefore, while CO flies this route daily, Air Europa may not sell, or may have sold out, some of the flights it has seats for.

Wren,
7/1-7/11 the special fare is not available, it's much higher but 7/2-7/11 it's available at 410 Euros
Igpjazz, your dates didn't work
Maybe I was lucky earlier today when I was putting in random dates in July and August but they all seemed to work!
