Great Fares and Dublin Dilemma

We just found a cheap way to cross from London to Paris. Ryanair has fares at least through today from Gatwick to Dublin and then a fare from Dublin to Paris. About 19 British pounds plus taxes. We'll have a half day in Dublin. Where to stay? What to do? Any way to have a couple of hours in the countryside while we wait to leave? Also, has anyone flown Ryanair? It looked like a deal to me.

Thanks!!

Danella,
Do a search on this forum re Ryanair, it is a reputable no frills and very cheap Irish airline with the emphasis on no frills.

I am not clear whether you are flying into Dublin for a few hours to fly on to Paris, if so remember that Dublin airport is a very busy airport and if you plan on leaving it to explore then be warned that Ryanair has a very strict policy of closing doors on time, late deaprtures are not normal with them. In addition they fly point to point and don't accept transfer bags etc. re info'on Dublin see ww.ireland.travel.ie and www.visitdublin.ie (or maybe it is .com)

Hope this helps and have a great time,

Cathy

Thanks Cathy!

We are planning to arrive on a Tuesday
afternoon and then leave on Wed. afternoon. Do you know any charming places to stay?

Danella,
Try www.hidden-ireland.com - for unusual places to stay. Number 31 in the centre of the city is quite good and you won't need a car, alternatively see www.aircoaches.ie - bus transfer to and from the airport and you can locate the hotels etc on its route,

Take a hop on hop off bus tour of Dublin departing from O"Connell St and/or the historical walking tour of the city run by the History graduates of Trinity College.

Hope this helps,

Cathy

Thanks Cathy!

I'll try those. Looks like we'll have a full day, so I'll try those websites.
