Great cooking class in Barcelona - Part 3 trip report
I am posting this part of my trip report as a separate post to give it the attention it deserves. This was an absolutely fabulous way to spend an evening in an amazing city. I looked at quite a few options for cooking classes/ food tours and finally decided on The Foodie Sisters. https://www.foodiexperiencebcn.com/
I wanted an evening course with the market tour, and this fitted the bill perfectly. First of all, the space is beautiful and very centrally located, a few minutes from the Ramblas and La Bouqueria market. We met up first with our partners for the evening and had a nice stroll to the market with explanations on different Spanish ingredients. Then back to the kitchen/space for cooking.
Angels, our chef and guide, had an infectious enthusiasm and obvious love for what she was doing, as well as professional knowledge to share with us. She had prepared work stations and aprons and divided up the many tasks between us. I think everyone enjoyed the cooking, and the drinks flowed - sangria, wine, vermouth (I think). And then we all sat down together to eat our combined efforts, and enjoy the company of strangers.
This is an excellent option for travelers who want something different. It is suitable for everyone (we had a baby in our group, and 2 lone female travelers.) I think it is a great solution for people travelling solo who are sick of eating alone in restaurants while touring. Highly recommended.
