Great Britain or Ireland?

My husband and I are trying to decide between traveling to Great Britain or Ireland. Any preferences? We would be traveling in early August '06 and probably have 7 nights/8 days. Would it be crazy to try to do both? Places of initial interest are York, Lake District, Edinburgh, Dublin, Killarney, Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula. Open to other "must-sees". We're fast travelers, but maybe best to choose one and save the other for later?

Yes, it would be crazy to do both. In fact, if you only went to ireland, you would scarcely have time for just the southwest area...

Definitely choose one or the other...your Ireland portion of the trip would already fill a week.

Novice:
Your really can't do both in the time frame you've given. My family and I have visited both and spent two weeks in each country. We are planning our next visit now.Do yourself a favor and pick one now and plan on the other next time.

No reason to post this twice. You had already received several detailed answers on your other thread.
