Graz hotels, help please.
Hi,
We will be spending one night in Graz in January and we're looking for a nice hotel. As it's only one night and the last one of our trip, we will consider all price ranges. Grand Hotel Wiesler sounds nice, anyone stayed there? We would prefer to be in the historical center, not near the station. Thanks :-) |
I was in Graz 4 weeks ago and stayed in the Domhotel (near the Dome of Graz, 5 minutes walk to Herrengasse which is the city center).
The hotel is located on a quiet street, near a pedestrian zone. The building used to be a Palais, originating from 1775. The rooms are huge. We had dinner in their restaurant MOD -excellent food, perfect location in the wintergarten. http://www.domhotel.co.at/ |
We stayed at the Grazerhof in 2002. Not fancy, but in the pedestrian zone, and reasonable prices. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again:

Thanks guys.
Any more? |
We stayed at the Austria Trend Europa in Graz, which is across from the train station, but the tram line is on the corner, and 5 minutes to the Old Town.
It was the nicest 4 star hotel we stayed in.Very nice staff, and large room king bed, non smoking, large bathroom, and the best breakfast buffet of the other hotels. Booked online. If you need computer there is one in the lobby you pay a small fee and get like a credit card for the time purchased. Would stay again, Lisa This was in Oct. |
Thanks Lisa, I'll have a look at that hotel. What is the area around the hotel/station like?
|
Sorry, family emergency, so have not looked at the site. Felt safe in the hotel area, no homeless etc. THe hotel from the outside does not look like much, but inside very nice, and the people. Tram stop at corner very busy lots of people around. Lisa
