Grande Canal on PBS in SF

Attention Bay Area PBS fans. Just saw mention of Venice's Grand Canal being featured on a program called "Great Streets," Thursday night, Nov. 20 at 8:00 pm on channel 9. Have never seen an episode of this series, so can't particularly recommend it, but thought some of you Italophiles might be interested.

Hi Betsy: I saw that announcement too. I love Nathan Lane, who does this episode which made it that much more enjoyable for me. I saw it the first go around and it was great. Good photography, bringing back wonderful memories (sigh) and sprinkled with Nathan Lane's special kind of humor. Don't miss it if you love Venice, I intend to watch it again.

I have Italian class tonight, but I've sent myself and DH a reminder to set our TIVO to catch it. Thanks, Betsy!

Hi Betsy and Koshka: I watched it again and enjoyed it as much if not more than the first time. Am considering even ordering the tape. Hope you both have seen it by now and had as much fun watching it as I did!

Yes, I was riveted to the screen. Wanted to run buy tickets to Venice immediately and contact a realtor about buying property on the canal. Oh those lucky people who wake up to that view every morning! I can dream, can't I?

Great show!

Unfortunately I could only see a part of it, nevertheless, very very interesting show!

Thanks for the heads up, Betsy!

Sadly, the show conflicted with two things we already TiVo so I couldn't get it during this showing... but I will catch it again at 1am in a few days time.

I'm sure I'll adore it. I fell in love in Venice (several men ago)

Hi Betsy!

Thanks for the reminder. It was a terrific program. Now I'm missing Venice. Missing Paris, missing Florence - geez, I'm a mess!

Koshka - LOL!!
