Grand Hotel Leveque - Smelly cheese?

Excuse the title - but.... We have booked to stay in Marais at the Hôtel Sévigné but Im starting to reconsider the postion for our first visit to paris.
Spent the afternoon doing searches and sending off emails and just got a reply from Leveque saying they have vacancy for our dates but only a back room (84Euro) Ive read lots of postings from different sites saying they loved the hotel but some said that there is a cheese shop next door that stinks out the back rooms.
Can anyone offer comments on this? The pedestrian street and postion (and price!) sound great but would we live to regret that smell?
thanks

Some people would pay extra for a room where they could smell God's feet.

ttt... because Id really appreciate feedback from anyone who may have stayed here. (because there is "cheese smell" and then there is "CHEESE SMELL" hee
Im thinking maybe the comments came from people who stayed in the rooms during summer where smells can be stronger...
comments on the hotel in genera would also be good.. and the back rooms???
(and hotel compared to Marais district)?
thanks again

Was there in November 2002. It was fine. Not a cheesy smell at all. Rooms were adequate, good value for the hotel.

It must be ten years ago by now, but I have stayed in one of the back rooms, and it was during an awful heat wave in July. I do not recall any cheesey aroma problems, though it was so dang hot all I remember clearly is sweating. (BTW stayed only 2 of planned 5 nights, found a place with AC at an acceptable rate and moved there.)
