Grand Hotel Francais Paris - Your thoughts???
Hi there,
we have had difficulty trying to book other hotels that have been recommended for our trip to Paris ( September 16 th for 4 nights ) and are wondering if anyone has stayed at this hotel before??
It has some good reviews but I am unsure of its location and whether it will be a good place to stay.
We want a comfortable, clean room with a nice bathroom.
This will be our first time to Paris.
What are your thoughts???
Thanks in advance

Looks like a typical nice Paris neighborhood..much closer to Nation than Bastille, so you'll probably need to use the metro/bus quite a bit, but that's ok.
The hotel itself seems to have a lot of favorable reviews on Tripadvisor..looks like the avg. double runs around 115E.
If the cancellation policy is lenient, book it for 'comfort' and then you can look around more if you want to.
p.s. you can check out the neighborhood by looking it up on www.pagesjaunes.fr and then using the photo/map/arienne views.

Staid at Grand Hotel Francais in February/March 2007.
Only complaint we had is that we had thought we booked a double room but instead we were booked a "standard room". The bed was small and we ended by upgrading for 40 Euro more per night.
We found the rooms small, your sleeping there, but clean, the plumbing has been upgraded.
The hotel did not have air conditioning, something to consider in September. The neighborhood is nice, there is a grocery across the street and Nation is a few minute walk. There are cafes close by.
They responded quickly to e-mails, when our flight was delayed.
I would deal direct with this hotel, to eliminate confusion.
