Granada on Palm Sunday weekend
 

Hi,
First time trip to Andelusia for DH, adult DD and me. We arrive in Granada on Friday, March 30, about 1:30pm on the train from Madrid and leave by train to Seville 2 days later on Palm Sunday about 5pm.

Any reason to prefer Friday or Sat for Alhambra day visit. Thinking of 5pm ticket on Friday as it is open until 8pm. Staying at hotel Monjas del Carmen near Plaza Nueva.

Any suggested Flamenco shows this weekend? Specifically, any shows that are not really late at night?

Assume Palm Sunday is very important holy day. Any suggestions for seeing procession or attending mass?

Very excited about this trip and spending Semana Santa in Seville!

And yes, Palm Sunday is an importat holy day.

Just make sure you have the train reservations for traveling during Semana Santa. You are in for such a treat! When you arrive in Sevilla stop by the tourist office and you can pick up a little booklet on Semana Santa and the processional schedule.

When it comes to flamenco, you should check if anything happens in Peña Flamenca La Platería, Placeta de Toqueros 7, in the Albaicín district. One of the oldest existing flamenco clubs in Spain, and many Saturdays at 9.30 you can experience the real deal here. Close to your hotel.

Thank you for the replies. We have the train tickets already; leaving Granada at 5pm on Palm Sunday. Seems all the processions leav in the evening so we will miss them. Here in US, on Palm Sunday, Catholic churches sometimes have a small procession into the church after blessing the palms. Wondering if Sunday mass in Granada features anything like that.
