Granada Dining: Cunini or Parador San Francisco or something else?
 

My 60 year old parents and I (33, female) will be in Granada for just one day before heading off to Jaen Parador. So I concluded from looking through the forum that the above two are most peoples' favorites in Granada. Which do you prefer, or should I try somewhere else for a nice and fun ambience and great food and not too expensive or pretentious. I gather that their set menu is somewhere around 30 Euros per person?

When in Granada last month, we ate both our dinners at the Parador. The food was delicious! I can't actually remember the price, but I want to say it was in the 30 euro range for the set menu with wine and coffee being extra. I want to say we paid around 80-90 euros each night for two of us.

As to other restaurants, I have no comparasion for you as we stayed at the parador and mainly choose it as a place to eat out of sheer convenience.

Others can give you better opinions on restauants in Granada.

If you do end up deciding to eat there, I recommend making a reservation or showing up shortly after the dinner hour starts (can't remember the time, but presumably the hotel could tell you). I say this because the room filled up very quickly after it opened for dinner (like within an hour or so), so if you didn't have a reservation, you might miss it.

We just got back from two weeks in Spain and we stayed at both the Parador in Jaen (a fabulous castle hotel with glorious views) and the Parador in Granada. Dinner at both paradors was delicious, and about 80 Euros for two with appetizer, main course, dessert & wine. I highly recommend the night visit to the Alhambra. It was spectacular - uncrowded & the way it was lighted captured te beauty & feeling that must have existed there at the time it was built. Very special. We went again the next day and used the sudiophones to get a fuller understanding of the history & uses of each of the rooms. IMO if you have only one day, spend it all at the Alhambra. If time is short, the other sights in Granada and the city itself are not worth using up your short time there.

We had diner at Cunini in Granada and thought that although the service was great, the restaurant itself was overpriced. The bill came to 100E and only half of our choices was good. Also, the waitress insisted that we should try some special kind of shripms served only in Granada and they were nothing special really. The sward fish and soupa Sevilliana were good.

I was in Granada in March and second all of the positive comments here on the Parador and it restaurant. We were very impressed with the meals at the parador and found them to be very affordable.
