We went to South Africa 2 years ago and it was wonderful. We had Pembury tours plan it, the agent was Susan. The guides told us they get many Australian visitors in the summer and the morning game drives required bundling up but then it was nice in the late morning and afternoon. Have fun!

Safari, no question. Do it now while you have the time and someone else is paying for it, LOL! Once you're working you will find it difficult to get 2 weeks off to really enjoy it. I've been on 4 safaris and cannot get enough. I'd recommend both Gamewatchers (Porini) and Offbeat Camps. I just spent the best 6 days at Offbeat Mara camp. They have specials pay 5 stay for 6, etc. Incredible location and the best guiding I've had anywhere in Kenya. I worked directly with Offbeat Safaris, and they handled transfers from NBO to the bush planes and back, including the bush flights to the Mara. I love Europe, especially Italy, but if someone were to offer me a safari or Italy right now, I'd be back in Africa in a heartbeat. There's no contest.
