Gordes or Saignon?

I'm trying to decide between these two villages for a one-week rental in late May with my wife and infant daughter. We visited Gordes briefly years ago, but never Saignon (although it seems to get positive reviews). Any thoughts on which might be a better option? Also, anybody ever stayed at Chateau Saint Quentin in Saignon or Les Terrasses in Gordes? Thanks!

I've stayed a few times on the edge of Gordes and twice in the middle of Saignon. Saignon is quieter but loved both places

This topic came up about 1 month ago.

I've been to both places - stayed near Gordes in a Gite for four weeks - split into two trips.

Both are very nice villages. Saignon is quiete, like cigalechanta said. Only drawback to Saignon is that if you go in/out from the north-western direction you'll go through Apt, which is a little tricky and Apt has some not-so-pretty sprawl. I believe the route through Apt is even closed or congested on market day (Sat). It's not as scenic & easy as going in/out of Gordes. Gordes ,IMHO, is a little more centrally located.

You can go through Apt on market days, though it can be a bit slow. The market itself (Saturdays) is wonderful. I love the village of Saignon. The place you are talking about is a ways out of the village proper. Saignon is much smaller and less touristed than Gordes.

Stu's right, it was discussed recently. Here's the thread:
