Google Eart/Ireland question

Can anyone tell me why there are no places of interest layers in Google Earth for Ireland? We were looking at it last night and there are no layers for hotels, pubs, restaurants, museums or anything like that. The layers are there for Northern Ireland but stop at the border. I assume it is a legal thing but it is strange, and a pity too.

Must be something to do with the Northern Ireland / Republic of Ireland issue?! Have you tried searching under Republic of Ireland instead of just Ireland? Don't know if that will help any. Let us know.

No - if I look at Google Earth, and have the layers on I can see layers all over the world, streetview, places to sleep, places of interest etc etc, except in Eire. Very odd.

Yes, that is indeed a mystery???

I think they are still mapping it. I have seen a lot of Google vans with the cameras on the roof around Cork City area in the past 2 months

That would explain the lack of streetview, but not the lack of other overlays. The only overlay that works is the panoramio one.
Not a pub to be found in Ireland it seems ;)

No, definitely there are pubs still to be found in Ireland, I found 3 of them last night and a fish & chip shop! my sore head this morning is proof of that!
