Good value Hotel in Ravello??

Can anyone recommend a good value well positioned hotel in Ravello for a 3 night stay in October? By good value I mean under 100 Euros for a double room per night.

Also, does anyone know the best form of transport from Naples Airport? How much would a private transfer cost? How long would the journey take?

I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Hi Jennie,

100E/nite for a double?

You can get to Ravello by

1. Airport bus to Sorrento (http://www.curreriviaggi.it/)
and SITA bus to Aamalfi and then bus to Ravello

2. Taxi to Naples Centrale, train to Salerno, ferry or bus to Amalfi, bus to Ravello.

I think that 2 will be faster.

Private transfer from Naples airport to Ravello will be close to 150E. It would be cheaper from Salerno.

Yep - 100 Euros for a room for the night. Is that unrealistic?

Regarding a private transfer, we have booked Renato Cuomo to take us from Ravello to Naples airport in October. On a Sunday, he is picking us up 1.5 hours before we need to be at the airport, and the cost is 110 Euros in a Mercedes. The travel time and cost may be more on a week day. His website is www.cuomonet.it. Actually, he was recommended by Ira.

As for a hotel under 100 Euros per night for a double room in Ravello, you may find other posts on this question. It just depends what you are willing to settle for. We were faced with the same budget and, after looking at reviews of the properties, found that we would not happy with what is available in Ravello. But the hotel room may not be important to you. Tripadvisor.com lists hotels, with prices.

Plan on spending close to double that for a room. We stayed in Positano last Sept., at Buca di Bacco, which was quite nice, but more like 180 Euro/nite. It was well worth it, though. Our room was overlooking the sea and was beautiful.
Positano limosine service picked us up in Salerno when we arrived, and took us to Naples @ 4:30 in the morning when we left to catch a commuter plane to Milano. It was approx 115 Euros each trip. The trip is about an hour and 15 minutes. It's shorter to Salerno, but the road is very twisty.
Have fun!
