Good tour operators? Cruise port areas

We'll be on a cruise of the British Isles in September. On a previous cruise to the Baltic, we had great luck with a wonderful tour operator who had guides in most of the ports we visited.

We are hoping to take some private tours (group of 6 people) and would appreciate any recommendations for reliable, fun tour operators for 3-6 hour tours at the following ports
-Liverpool (Yes, we are interested in The Beatles!)
-Glasgow (Greenock)
-Edinburgh (South Queensferry) (Is there anything to see connected to Sean Connery?)

Thank you in advance for recommendations and any ideas/thoughts/MUST SEES or things to avoid.

I have been to every one of those locations - but never took any tours (except a Beatles tour in Liverpool).

One site you might want to contact is Rabbies. They mostly do small group set itineraries, but they also do custom tours and for a group of 6 they could arrange day tours out of places like Invergordon, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Cork.

For Belfast -- check out the Black Cab tours

And in Liverpool there are just a lot of options -

Friends who cruise use for all their shore excursions wherever they sail.
You may want to post this on the Fodors Cruise Forum too.

Your port of calls look very similar to Crown Princess' British Isles cruise. Perhaps you want to check out one of their roll-call threads on the cruise critic board, where many people discuss which tour operators they are using.

You have to sign up and log in, in order to read the content of a roll call thread.
