Good time to be in Wales ?

We are planning a visit to Wales, Devon, and Cornwall from about April 18 to May 10. Are there any major school holidays during this period ?

Would it be necessary to book accomodations in advance ?

Also is this a good time to visit gardens or is it too early ?

Easter is April 24. Schools are mostly out from April 9 through Easter Monday. And April 29 (for the Royal Wedding) and May 2 are Bank holidays so I'd definitely pre-book the nights April 18-25 and April 29-May 1.

No way to tell how good the gardens will be - every year is different. But generally, Spring gardens are lovely.

Any time is a good time for Wales!

Where are you going in Wales? That may decide whether you need to book in advance.

Yeah, what part of Wales are you thinking of visiting?

There will likely be fewer crowds in many parts of Wales than in most of Devon and Cornwall. So yes -- definitely where exactly are you asking about?

My response was about all three, not just Wales as in your title. But it looks like you decided to start a new thread instead of posting back here . . .

I should have posted only one topic. I have asked for help with our itinerary on this forum so if you could maybe look there I'd appreciate it.

You're arriving at the busiest end-April/Early-May in decades, as the combination of a late Easter with the extra Bank Holiday for the Royal wedding plus another a few days later means that many people will take the opportunity to take a much longer break than they normally would. You should DEFINITELY book well in advance.
