Good restaurants in Tirano, Italy
Any recommendations on where to eat for lunch in Tirano, Italy after the Bernina Express. Preferably something close or walking distance to the station?
We have quite a few vegetarians in our group
No seafood
Thanks in advance!

We've been to Tirano several times and can't recommend any restaurants in town, but we can recommend the Gelateria Lollipop Di Del Simone Bruno on Via Italia near the river Adda for outstanding gelato.
You could go up the Bernina Pass a short disatnce to the restaurant Hotel La Prese overlooking Lake Poschiavo. We had lunch there last summer and the lunch with the views of the lake were gorgeous.
Buon viaggio,

neckervd - how do you define a good restaurant? Michelin stars, ratings in the Best of ...?
The Valtellina traditionally has been a poor region with dishes which today would be called "cucina povera" - pizzocheri, polenta, air cured beef (bresaola), butter rather than oil, chestnuts, porcini mushrooms, etc. Traditionally they did not eat bread or pasta but polenta.
Cucina povera has now been re-evaluated as it is genuine, kilometer-zero and quite frankly delicious.

That actually sounds delicious. Any particular restaraunt recommended? I'll be checking some TripAdvisor reviews on nearby restaurant and will try to see if they serve those dishes as we have never had that. I love Italian food!

viranpooja - presuming that you or your family are from India there is no such thing as an Italian restaurant as there would be an Indian restaurant or a Chinese restaurant.
Everything is regional and within certain regions such as Lombardy there is a huge variation - Valtellinese, Milanese, Bergamasco, Mantovese etc etc.
General de Gaulle famously said how can you govern a country which produces 246 varieties of cheese. There are probably more varieties in Lombardy alone!
